Dilute nitrict acid, which, in the Pharmacopoeia of the United States, consists of nitric acid, water fix by measure. Diluted largely with water, it is used, as a drink in fevers of the typhoid kind; in chronic affections of the liver, syphilis, &c.; but in the latter affections, it is not to be depended upon.
