A Mexican poet; born in Leon, Guanajuato, Nov. 3, 1831; died in Napa, Cal., Nov. 27, 1869. He published three volumes of poems: "Dreams and Visions" (Mexico, 1856); "Clouds and Stars" (Guadalajara, 1865); and "Legends and Romances" (San Francisco, 1868); also a collection of poems", Home Stories. "He wrote many comedies. The drama "Maria Antonieta de Lorena" is regarded as his best work.
