An American poet and prose-writer; born near Winnsboro, S. C., about 1840. Her writings include the poem "Forever Thine" (1859), under the pseudonym of "Claudia", and stories signed "Esther Chesney" (1860). She was literary editor of the Edgefield Advertiser (1863); and is author of "Riverlands", a story of life on the Ashley River.
