A Latin historian, who flourished 350-370 A. D. He was secretary to Constantine, and took part in Julian's expedition against the Persians. He wrote an "Epitome of Roman History", a brief narrative of Rome from its foundation to the time of Valens. It is written in a simple and forcible style, and has been used as a text-book for centuries.
