-
One of the religious sect called the Family of Love which arose in Holland in 1556. They taught that religion consists wholly in love, independently of any form of truth held and believed; that through love man could become absolutely absorbed in and identified with God; that God regards not the outward actions but only the heart, and that to the pure all things are pure, even things forbidden.
