Two pulleys of the same diameter placed side by side on a shaft, the one rigidly fixed to the shaft, the other loose. The shaft is driven from a revolving shaft by a band passed over the fixed pulley, and, when the shaft is to be stopped, the band is shifted to the loose pulley.
