An American journalist and author; born in Chicago, July 10, 1867. He served on the editorial staffs of various Chicago newspapers and was editor of the Chicago Journal from 1897 to 1900. He wrote "Mr. Dooley in Peace and War" (1898); "Mr. Dooley in the Hearts of His Countrymen" (1898); "Mr. Dooley's Philosophy" (1900).
