An English theological writer; born at London, Dec. 9, 1761; died 1844. He made a critical revision of the New Testament -"The Book of the New Covenant of our Lord" (1836); "Annotations" to the same (1837); "Remarks on the Eastern Origination of Mankind and of the Arts of Cultivated Life" (1799).
