A salt of hydrobromic acid. The term is occasionally used in the same sense as bromid, but generally denotes an addition compound of hydrobromic acid with a radicle of the ammonia type; e. g., an alkaloid. Such compounds are more appropriately called hydrobromids. [Lat.]
