Inflammation of the cornea. It may be superficial or deep, acute or chronic. The symptoms are pain, photophobia, lacrimation, more or less opacity of the cornea, ciliary injection, vascularity of the cornea (rarely extending beyond the periphery except in pannus), and diminution of vision.
