An instrument, invented by M. Nauche, for listening to the sounds of the heart of the foetus, in utero-gestation, when the sounds and movements are imperceptible through the parietes of the abdoment. The extremity of the instrument- the first notion of which was given to M. Nauche by the stethoscope of Laennec- is introduced into the vagina and applied against the neck of the uterus.
