A salt formed by saturating morphia with acetic acid. [ Morphia, in powder, freed from narcotina by boiling with sulphuric ether, distilled water, Oss; acetic acid, a sufficient quantity. Mix the morphia with the water; then carefully drop in the acid, constantly stirring until the morphis is saturated and dissolved. Evaporate the soution in a water-bath to the consistence of syrup. Lastly, dry the acetate with gentle heat and rub it into powder. - Ph., U. S.] Dose, from 1/8 of a grain to half a grain.
