A Flemish miscellaneous writer; born at Antwerp, 1818; died there, 1857. He was editor of several journals; wrote numerous poems, tragedies, comedies, romances, and novels, among them "Daniel" (1845); "Ferdinand the Corsair" (1845). His works appeared in 1869-73 in thirteen volumes.
